Expectations

Coming into the weekend, there's some good racin to look out for.

What are your expectaions?

  • How do you think Bubba will do in his first return to Houston since a concussion in Indy?

  • Will it be FMF/RPM/KTM rider Bobby Prochnau or JCR Honda rider David Kamo to take the win this year at the Desert 100 in Odessa, WA?

Gods O' Moto and Sunshine are a Shining

Little late of a post, I didn't have WiFi on my trip. Check back for more pics later this week! :) Best trip BY far.

Sitting in the airport right now, about ready to board my plane to go to LAS VEGASSSSS! I'm not excited, At. All. My girlie friends are already there, and as soon as I get there we are on our way to Lavo. I doubt there will be celebrity sightings on a Wednesday night, but you never know!

I really want Josh Hansen to be there, but I think I saw on Twitter that he is going to a snowboard thing in Mammoth with Danny and the Dingo. I am pretty sure if he just met me, he would want to be BFF's. Right? I mean I can't booty clap like Dianna Dahlgren, but I know what a cc is so that should count for something. Hahaha, such a #motoho I am.

I really do like lil sis Pratt, but Lets be clear. I am SO much more best of both worlds.

Tomorrow will bring in a day at the pool. Praying for pretty pool boys walking around with Evian spray and sunscreen. Yep, I am dillusional and think I am someone... or was in another life! Ending the day and beginning the evening at Tao Beach. Maybe Kim K will be there, and I can make an educated decision on how fake/bitchy she really is. OR if she really is as small as everyone says she is... poor girl. Fakes a marrige for money AND she looks fat TV. At least she's got millions that she can thank RayJ for.

I am MOST excited to be heading out to Havasu Friday AM, where we will be attending the 4th round of the WORCS series. Kind of bummed because alot of the usual folks will be up at the Hare and Hound in Idaho, but screw them. How can you possibly beat 90 degrees, standing in the lake with a beer, and watchin a dirt bike race. Heaven I tell you, utter serentiy.

Check out @FMF_RPM_KTM, and @vurboffroad for live updates on Sat and Sun.

Thrifty Thursday

Since I have an addiction to shoes, and lets be clear shopping in general, I thought I should start documenting some of my finds. Some are quite impressive! This week, I went into Ross looking for something completely different, I looked across to the other side of the rack, and I beheld these beauties.

Yet another boy in my life. It's always Syd and the guys. Thank you, Mr. Sam Edleman. You can hug my feet any day, and I don't even feel like you need to take me to dinner first. I didn't do the research to see how much these cost, but most SE shoes run around $120-$150 at Nordies. Read em and weep ladies, and queens alike:

Yep, $24.99 and better than any other "sale" item you might find at the real Nordies or that blue light special generic brand super batch of TP.  5" heels, real leather like buttah, and a Mary Jane strap that hits at just the right part of your foot so that you don't have the unfortunate kankle illusion. ( Unless you actually have them, then you should only be coveting these, and never ever be seen in any sort of Mary Jane, or pencil skirt with a hem line that hits above those things.)

I will figure out a better picture sitch, but for now you get the drift. Check back next Thursday for what find I may have picked up at this weekends Gem Show.

Ciao!! xx

Safety First

FMF/RPM/KTM Team Maxxis support rider Kacy Martinez is staying busy in this years WORCS series. Defending her 2011 title with Tatum Sik right on her heels, she is still ahead in the points standing kicking butt and taking names all while being safe. You are probably reading this laughing and thinking, 'really, Syd? Racing dirt bikes just isn't synonymous with being safe.' You may be right, but just because your balls to the wall twistin grip and draggin bars, doesn't mean you should throw all caution to the wind and not protect your self in every way that the industry is currently making available.

The Leatt brace is taking the offroad world by storm, and is slowly making a name in SX. Check out this video that Vital MX put out today, and also their website to get more info. The guys are all incredibly helpful, and are at every WORCS race ready to fit your brace to you.

Havasu is coming up in less than 2 weeks. Really shouldn't have had that chocolate donut today!!! Can't wait to get back to racin, a month is far too long to be away. Come check out the race, the beach, babes, dirt scooters, margaritas, London Bridge, jet boats, Leatt Braces, FMF/RPM/KTM Team Maxxis, and SUNSHINE!!!!!!!!

I heart Dane Cook

Hell on Heels

After joining Twitter, I started following @danecook for some daily amusement.  Day 1, and he hasn't failed me.

"There is nothing more ferociously unstoppable than a reformed slut with intentions, know how & a pair of Louis Vuitton high heels."

Something to remember, ladies. If you have the look, brains and keep your legs closed, you can take on the world. Relatively speaking of course. Your 12 mile radius to home, 450 Facebook friends world.

@2012 #Oppotunitesknockin

Well, shoot. I joined Twitter. Peer pressure and the ultimate need to be able to legitimately hash tag something got the best of me.

Check it @syd_christensen, and see all the shenanigans a single girl whos in love with everything contradictory can get herself into.

Welcome to 2012, Bitches.

Polish: Current Obsessions

I have 2 things that I am currently obsessing over, neither has anything to do with each other!

First, apparently, I cannot NOT blog about summer topics. I may be mildly obsessed, which is due to the fact that it is currently cloudy and possibly raining outside. People in my office have boots and sweaters on, while I am wearing platform sandals and cropped skinny jeans. I am clinging to whatever residual sun there might be from the first day of summer! Generally in the summer, most of us wear a little less face product. With that in mind, a great exfoliator (Both manual and chemical) is a must have for our summer skin, to bring out that natural glow.

Both of these products can be found at Target. They also both have Salicylic acid in them, best known to get down into the pore and get the dirt out. In comparison, Benzoyle Peroxide will sit on top of the skin. Good used in moderation, but used too much can dry out the skin. This will cause more dead skin cells to stay, slowing down the natural exfoliating process which actually causes more breakouts. I prefer BP as a spot treatment. Play around with what works best for your skin, and of course ask you derm.

The second item I am currently obsessing over is v-neck T's! I know it seems silly, and rather generic. I feel like it has taken a while (as with most trends) for some quality products to trickle down to the average persons price range. Of course I always fall in love with brands like Elizabeth & James, or C&C, especially for basics that are staples for your wardrobe. I also always find it hard to spend $50-$200 on a plain T. Target has had some great v necks out for a while in a variety of colors, usually under $10 bucks. TOTALLY doable. One drawback, the dreaded one-boob pocket. It's not so bad on plain t's, but I still just don't like the look of them. I was at Zumiez yesterday and found some... WITH OUT POCKETS!! As friendly as those boys usually are, they still found my excitement odd. Whatever, I'm stoked, and they were 2 for $25. A little better quality than Target. Most were wide or skinny stripes (like the one pictured above), but there are some plain colors on the website. Some were also in the store, sweet green kind of like mint choc-chip ice cream, but it did have a pocket.

A small side point for your Target items: As these are great buys, they do tend to be flimsier fabric and can fall apart or fade quickly. If you refrain from putting these guys in your dryer, and hang dry them, it saves the color, shape and hem. I do this with most of my clothing, and as a result have pieces from 10 years ago... GULP! Well worth the extra time, and evening of your house looking like the washer exploded!! Check back next week for my suggestions on hang drying, including where to get drying racks that last, are inexpensive AND can be delivered to your house!!
